The Wait
It has been the case that during El Niño, Texas gets more rainfall. As we wait for much needed rain, one has to wonder if that pattern will be disrupted by the changing climate. Our view of the bottom of ponds and other water holes and dry creeks over an extended time certainly has been unnerving.

The Mandry family opened their new pizza restraunt in June after saving for the venture over a four-year period. “Going from knowing nothing about the food service industry to learning it all in a month was a lot,” said Kori. “We basically had to spend 34 hours a day learning, reading, talking to people.”

Legal groups sue to stop new immigration law
The ink was barely dry on a law signed by Gov. Greg Abbott that makes unauthorized entry into the United States a state crime before a lawsuit was filed by civil rights groups and El Paso County challenging its constitutionality. The Austin American-Statesman reported the suit was filed in an Austin federal court by the ACLU and two immigrant advocacy groups on behalf of the county.

LOCAL DRIVE BENEFITS BANDERA BOYS AND GIRLS
Riding on Faith Rodeo and The Humpday Hulligans collected and donated three tables full of Toys for Tots, presenting them to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bandera County on Dec. 16.“We also collected and Donated about 5 large boxes (we think about 3000 pair) of Socks for Seniors, that will be put in the Christmas Bags for Silver Sage Senior Center Meals on Wheels,” said Karen Konvicka. “Thank you to all the Barrel Racers, Thank you Bandera, Texas, ‘Cowboy Capital of the World’ for all your donations and for helping us do this for The Children and Seniors of Bandera County.”
