Organizers of the annual July 4 Pet Parade at Bandera City Park postponed Friday's event due to weather
“As much as we hate to do it, we have decided to postpone today's pet parade,” organizers said in a statement. “We don't want anyone traveling today and putting anyone in jeopardy.”
They said they plan to meet later in the day to determine a backup plan and asked the public to help spread the word about the postponement.
The decision comes as Bandera sees heavy rainfall, with Kerr county seeing evacuations following heavy overnight rainfall.
Several low-water crossings in Bandera County remain impassable, and residents are being urged to avoid travel unless absolutely necessary.
