John Reagan Peterson, influential Bandera philanthropist, dies at 72

John Reagan Peterson, Bandera County Regional Foundation’s 2003 Philanthropist of the Year who started Pipe Creek Water Well Company and was a founding member of the Bandera Natural History Museum, died March 12 at the age of 72. Peterson was an active member of the Bandera County Chamber of Commerce, receiving the Citizen of the Year award in 2000. “His realistic approach to problems , his promotion of the museum and his sense of humor were invaluable assets, and he will be dearly missed,” said Maggie Schumaker, Director of Operations at the Bandera Natural History Museum.
