The Bandera Independent School District recognized the Bandera Electric Cooperative for the support it’s provided the district at the June BISD Board of Trustees meeting earlier this month.
BISD superintendent, Dr. Jerry Hollingsworth, praised BEC for its support of BISD students and families during the COVID-19 school closure during the spring semester.
In the first weeks of the closure, BEC Fiber provided internet service to over 120 homes, allowing students to access remote learning to complete the school year, officials said.
In addition, BEC brought in its repair trucks to raise the U.S. and the Texas flags for the Class of 2020 Drive-in graduation last month.
BISD officials said they value the district’s partnership with BEC and look forward to continuing to work together to make a positive impact on the Bandera community.
