I’m proud to announce that an extremely important event occurred on 14 July 2022 at 6 PM – YOUR Bandera County Republican Party was reborn! As required by the Republican Party of Texas, the first meeting of your new Bandera County Republican Party County Executive Committee (CEC) held its Organizational Meeting. This event was graced by current and former Representatives from the Republican Party of Texas and the Texas State Executive Committee, all of which commended our county on what a great event it was and how important you are to Bandera County and the State of Texas. After the rebirth of YOUR County Republican Party, the new County Chair and members of the County Executive Committee immediately went to work. Some of the important work your new CEC attended to was to appoint Precinct Chairs for two vacant Precincts, making up a full CEC for the first time in many years.
Read moreOn behalf of the Texas Land & Liberty Coalition (TXLLC), I write in support of the Rio Lago Solar Project being proposed in Bandera County. TXLLC is an alliance of landowners, farmers, ranchers, community leaders, economic development supporters and clean energy advocates working together to bring about responsible renewable energy development in Texas. We are strong proponents of private property rights and believe that Texas landowners are entitled to develop their own property as they best see fit.
Read moreFor several weeks in a row, members of the local Democratic caucus have written to the Opinion page and have had their pieces re-run regarding the January 6, 2020 riot at the capitol hearings, presumably, because of Herr Goebbels' dictum, the lies must be repeated often for it to become perceived as “truth” to the public.
Read moreAs I’ve written before, when I first came to the Bulletin, I was approached by multiple parties requesting the return of the locally submitted political columns. I was able to do so in a way that pleased both readers and my superiors. At this moment, the local parties are not submitting weekly, on-time columns at the same rate. Thus, the Bulletin has decided to remove bylines labeling columns as Democrat or Republican. We will still strive to have a fair, balanced page with a variety of content for your perusal or pass-over. As always, nothing on this page is endorsed and no topics are assigned to anyone. What the Bulletin does endorse is the space for community discussion. If you’d like to submit yourself for publication consideration, contact editor@banderabulletin.com. Thank you very much for your readership. Stay cool.
Read moreThe Democrats' Build Back Better bill has risen from the dead. Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W. Va., who killed the massive spending package last year, is back in conversation with his party's leaders about advancing a slimmeddown version of the measure.
Read moreAnybody out there remember “kick the can” or “hide and go seek”? How about penny loafers and jeans without holes in the knees? Or playing football with boys in the neighbor- hood because there weren’t enough guys to make 2 teams without girls? We climbed trees and roller skated up and down the hills in Fort Worth. That was my neighborhood in the early 1950s.

Read moreI was in Bandera on July 2 and 3 and picked up a copy of your paper. I would like to take this opportunity to express my opinion that differs from that expressed by Susan Hall in a column she wrote in the June 29 edition of your fine paper.
