Mary Allison (right) of Spicewood, Texas, picks out sweets offered by Samantha Hamilton of Sam Makes and Bakes, a bakery located in Pipe Creek and participating vendor in last Saturday’s Prairie Song Market Day “Holiday Shopping.” The event was hosted by Prairie Song Custom Sewing, located at 280 Hwy. 173, and featured over ten local businesses displaying their handcrafted items. The event was designed to help local vendors introduce themselves to Bandera and its many visitors, according to organizer Lynn White, owner of Prairie Song. “I just wanted to provide the opportunity for local artisans to profit from what they do,” explains White. When asked if the event was successful, White says “Everyone who has gotten back with me said how successful it was for them and thanked me for giving them the opportunity.” Prairie Song plans to hold a similar event in the spring.
