Glenda Kay Slaughter, 67, of Vanderpool, Texas, passed away on Oct. 2, 2019 in Bryan, Texas.

She was born on Dec. 16, 1951 in Joplin, Missouri to her parents, Florene and James Arnce.

Glenda attended the University of Houston for pharmacology and later attended Sam Houston State University and received a degree in finance.

Glenda married Thomas Slaughter on May 31, 1990 in Houston, Texas at North-woods Presbyterian Church.

Glenda and Tom owned and operated the Lost Maples Winery at Polvadeau Vineyards in Vanderpool. She enjoyed entertaining family and friends.

Glenda and Tom enjoyed the outdoors and spent time together traveling, sailing and fishing.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Judy Arnce Skrabanek.

Glenda is survived by her husband, Thomas Slaughter, stepson, Tommy Slaughter and wife, Jennifer, son, Nicholas Swift, sister, Kathy Johnson and her husband, Craig, nieces and nephew, Christopher Johnson, Jennifer Skrabanek and Meghann Skrabanek, great-niece and nephews, Hayden Skrabanek, Aubrey Skrabanek, and Landon Skrabanek, and a host of loving extended family members and friends.

The graveside service was held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 15, in Vanderpool Cemetery, Vanderpool, Texas, with Rev. Jim Boyd officiating.
