LETTER TO THE EDITOR
I live outside the city and therefore don’t get too involved in city politics, but I do care if the city seems to be making poor decisions regarding who is hired, whether as a city official or as a consultant. We (Bandera as a whole) end up looking like either rubes or slackers.

Legal challenges to amendments appear quashed
A half-dozen lawsuits challenging the 13 approved Texas constitutional amendments appear to be dead in the water, The Dallas Morning News reported. The secretary of state’s office last week declared the propositions approved and now a part of the Texas Constitution, while Gov. Greg Abbott canvassed the election and certified the results. One proposition that would have raised the retirement age of judges was rejected by voters.

One of the primary rallying cries expressed by Presidential candidate Trump is the obliteration of the “Deep State.” This has resonated with many, if not all, of his supporters. The Deep State is considered a clandestine cadre of bureaucrats, military and intelligence personnel within our government, along with high level outside forces that generate or counter policies and actions in the governmental sphere.
