Medina High School’s varsity football team is 0-3 for the season after a lopsided home loss to the Williamson County Home School Falcons 72-25 on Friday, Sept. 11
Medina Head Football Coach Kurt Nichols commented on the young Bobcat team’s performance, saying it played well until the middle of the second quarter.
“I felt at that time we made mental errors which hurt us on both sides of the ball,” said Nichols. “Penalties at important times hurt us terribly. We had our chances many times. We are a good football team; we just have to show it for four quarters.”
Defensive statistics for Medina showed that Elijah Gongora had 2 solo tackles and 4 assists, Nate Aguilar had 1 solo tackle, 3 assists and 2 blocked points after touchdown, Wyatt Boatman had 2 solo tackles and 3 assists, Britton Wickham had 2 solo tackles and 4 assists, T.J. DeLeon had 5 solo tackles and 5 assists, Ty Hill had 2 solo tackles and 2 assists and Davis Bailey had 2 assists.
Medina will host Rochelle at home Friday, Sept. 18, at 7:30 p.m.
