The Lady Bulldog softball team held the Canyon Lake Hawks to a close game, winning 6-4 last Friday night at home.
The Bulldogs started scoring early, racking up five runs at the beginning of the game. They held the Lady Hawks scoreless until the fifth inning, when the Hawks got in the groove bringing in four runs.
The Bulldogs held their two-run lead through the seventh inning, winning the game.
The Lady Bulldogs’ improved teamwork was noticeable during the game with excellent play in the infield.
Aubrey Mangold’s pitching arm showed stamina as she pitched all seven innings, giving up very few walks in the later innings
April Rodriguez showed heads-up play at first base earning the Bulldogs several outs.
The Lady Bulldogs will began a road trip starting with a game against Fredericksburg on March 30. Results of that game were not available by the Bulletin’s deadline.
The road trip will continue in Boerne on April 2 and Wimberly on April 9.
The team will return home on April 13 to play Davenport.
