Our Lady of the Hills took advantage of Medina’s mistakes to beat the Bobcats 57-35 in Kerrville on Friday, Sept. 20.
“We had several opportunities to play better or perhaps win the game,” said Medina’s Football Coach Kurt Nichols. “We fumbled inside the 15-yard line once and failed to score on two other Red Zone opportunities.”
“We also missed 4 PATs (points after touchdown), which would account for 8 points, and the team came off of coverage several times and allowed big passes, and we did a poor job containing their QB in the pocket,” Nichols said.
Medina was ahead 15-14 at halftime, but the second half belonged to OLH.
The Hawks had a 29-21 lead midway through the third quarter and added another 28 points to end the game, as Medina was putting up 14 points, making the final score 57-35 in the Hawks’ favor.
Scoring statistics for the Bobcats were:
Rushing - Dakota Nelson, 2 TDs; Austin Horton, 1 TD.
Receiving - Greg Selement, 1 TD; Jacob Hinds, 1 TD.
Passing - Britton Wick-ham, 1 TD; Nathaniel Aguilar. 1 TD Medina is now 1-3 for the year. The Bobcats host Fredericksburg Heritage on Friday, Sept 27.
