I’ve been running an experiment for a number of years now that I’d like to suggest you try for yourself.Rather than casting a straight-party vote because I don’t like the other party, I try to find out something about the candidates so I can believe that I’m choosing who to vote for, rather than simply rubber-stamping someone else’s choice. Since time is limited and, honestly, there are many things I’d rather be doing, I rely on other resources to gather my facts.Specifically, at least for statewide races, I read the recommendations of the Editorial Board at the San Antonio Express-News.
