Social distancing may be necessary right now, but it’s taking a toll on small businesses.
State-specific numbers aren’t available, but I am the Texas director of the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), and 76 percent of the nation’s small business owners are being impacted in some way by the COVID-19 outbreak, according to a recent NFIB survey.
Over half say sales are down, while 23 percent report the coronavirus has affected their supply chain. One in five owners surveyed by NFIB stated the outbreak hasn’t affected them, but most think it will eventually.
