LETTER TO THE EDITOR
We would like to express our sincere thanks to some of the citizens of Bandera for their help on Sept. 15 and 16.
While traveling from San Antonio back home to Andrews, we had car trouble and broke down. We were lucky to make it to the parking lot of CarQuest just to find it closed being that it was Sunday.
Knowing we would have to stay over, we talked to a woman in Family Dollar (think her name was Andrea), and she suggested contacting Natalie Barnard about renting one of her cabins.
Natalie was so helpful, and within 15 minutes, she had us set up in Cowboy Corner, which was just a block from where we were parked. She also suggested Main Street Auto to contact on Monday to fix our car.
Come to find out, the owner Phil LaBarre and his son Shawn also owned the CarQuest, so it all came together for a reason. Phil and Shawn were great in getting our car fixed quickly and getting us back on the road on Monday by noon.
We would also like to send a shout out to Lucas at TJ’s for the wonderful service and suggestion for a great meal on Sunday night.
We always travel through Bandera when going back home from San Antonio for the beautiful drive of the Hill Country and have always wanted to stop and check out the town.
This was the time it was supposed to happen, and we really enjoyed our time there despite the circumstances.
This is a prime example of Texans helping Texans, people helping people! Thank you again and we will always hold a special place in our hearts for Bandera, Texas.
