Bonnie Cheryl Bowman, 70, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2020 of natural causes in Pipe Creek, Texas.

Creative, passionate and vivacious, Ms. Bowman was born in Pasadena, Texas. She was the eldest of George and Laura Sistrunk's five children.

She lived a life of adventure both in and out of love and successful careers in pharmaceutical sales and later as a home healthcare professional.

Her love of animals led her to start a nonprofit dog rescue, a mission that provided healthcare and homes for dozens of abandoned dogs. A friend to many, Ms.

A friend to many, Ms. Bowman loved helping and learning from others. She provided the unfiltered truth, with a side of love and Texas charm.

Her travels always included her beloved and only child George Aaron Nielsen of Westbrook, Maine. A devoted mother, she always supported Aaron's talents and dreams.

She is also survived by her only grandchild, Carleigh May Nielsen of Brantford, Ontario, who enjoyed visits to Texas to see her grandmother.

In addition, Ms. Bowman will be remembered by her younger siblings Linda, Robin, Laura and Robert, along with her many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations to local animal rescues will honor Bonnie's memory and mission to care for those who need it most.
