State drought conditions increase

Drought conditions in Texas increased for the first time in ten weeks, according to a report from the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB).

While last week’s TWDB report noted the lowest area of state in drought since 2020, this week’s report shows an uptick in counties like Val Verde, Edwards and Kinney.

Bandera County has not shown any significant change in recent reports.

There is currently no burn ban in Bandera County, but the county’s Fire Marshal requests that those planning a burn fill out a registration form banderacounty.org/departments/fire_marshal.htm or call 830-796-4507.
