Rabies reappears in county

In the midst of the coronavirus outbreak, rabies has reappeared in Bandera County, authorities said last week. The Bandera County Sheriff’s Department issued a press release saying it was notified on Thursday, April 2, that a raccoon brought in for testing from Medina had tested positive for the rabies virus. The animal had been downed in the 1900 block of CR Moore Road in Medina early last week, authorities said. Details about the circumstances associated with the case were unavailable.
