Pete Flores declares victory in runoff

With 100 percent of counties reporting and 82 percent of polling locations reporting, unofficial results from the Texas Secretary of State's office list Pete Flores as having a significant lead over Raul Reyes in the runoff for District 24 State Senator. 

As of 11:30 p.m. Tuesday night, Flores had 59.17 percent of the vote to Reyes' 40.83 percent, according to those numbers from the Secretary of State's office. 

Flores received signifcant support in Bandera County, pulling in 63.58 percent of the vote from 2,416 voters, according to unofficial election results from the Bandera County Elections department.

Flores, who received endorsements from President Trump and Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick, said in a statement Tuesday night he appreicated the confidence expressed by the voters of District 24. 

"I tip my hat in thanks to those who voted for me, and I extend a hand to those who did not. I am ready to do the work you have elected me to do. Thank you," he said.
