County Republicans had sharper dip in turnout than Democrats

Despite having one of the state’s highest early voting percentages, voter turnout for the midterm elections dropped in Bandera County, matching a statewide trend. In Bandera County, that dip in turnout was more noticeable in Republicans than Democrats. Voter turnout in Bandera County was the lowest since 2016 for a General Election, with 58 percent of registered voters casting ballots this year. That’s down from 74 percent in 2020, 60 percent in 2018 and 68 percent in 2016. Statewide, just over 45 percent of voters participated in the Nov. 8 election.
