The Lakehills United Methodist Church’s annual Chicken Dinner fundraiser will be held on Sunday, Oct. 6, in the church’s Mission Hall, which is at the corner of 8th and J Street in Lakehills.
In addition to the dinner, which will include the sale of whole chickens without any side dishes for $11, a Trade Day will be held at the church. That will enable area artists and craftsmen an opportunity to sell their wares, while giving residents an outlet to put excess household items and other goods they no longer need up for sale.
Church officials said anyone wanting to reserve a place for the sale should call 210-884-9767. Tables set up outside will be available for $10. Tables inside the building are going for $20.
The chicken dinner, which includes side dishes and a drink, will cost $10. Deserts will be available for an additional cost.
Proceeds from the day’s activities will benefit “Christmas for Community Children,” a church program that strives to see that youngsters who might not have the chance to get gifts for Christmas this year will share in the joy of the holiday season.
More information about the dinner is available by calling 830-751-2404 or by going online to www.lakehillsumc.org.
