We want your teen’s input!

The library is looking to establish a Teen Advisory Board who will advise the staff and director on the Library’s young adult and junior fiction collection. These volunteer positions will be a great opportunity to have a say in what kind of novels, non-fiction, manga and graphic novels are purchased.

If your child is between the ages of 13 and 18 and would like to participate, please contact the Library Director at 830-796-4213.

Teens that are looking to apply for college or a job soon will be able to use experiences like this one on their applications.

The Bandera Library Book Club is currently reviewing titles for their roster of 2022 reads. If you have been considering joining the group, this would be a great time.

The group meets on the first Thursday of the month in the Genealogy Room from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Read a great book, grab a cup of coffee and join the discussion.

Two of our ongoing programs, Pokemon League and Dungeons and Dragons, are also looking for more players.

Pokemon League meets on Monday afternoons from 4:30 to 6 p.m., and Dungeons and Dragons meets on Saturday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Downstairs Meeting Room.

The library has 13 public access computers available to everyone. You can use them to check your email, surf the web or take your online exams.

But what if you need to use the computers, but don’t have a lot of computer skills? Don’t worry! The Library staff is available to help give you a basic run down on how to use a computer as part of our Book-A-Librarian program.

Call the Library to make an appointment with a staff member and let the staff know what you need help with. Book-A-Librarian allows you to set a time with a librarian to learn how to use all of the library’s many resources.

Fans of Louise Penny will be happy to know that the latest Inspector Gamache mystery has just been released. “The Madness of Crowds” is the seventeenth installment in the series starring Chief Inspector Armand Gamache.

Gamache, and the rest of the citizens of Lost Pines, Quebec, are enjoying the holiday season. A controversial college professor has requested Gamache work the security detail for her visiting lecture at the local university.

Gamache finds himself in a sticky spot with some residents calling for her lecture to be cancelled and the university citing academic freedom. With a tense backdrop of a town quickly losing its cool, Gamache discovers a murderer is in their midst. Get on the reserves list for this mystery today!

The Bandera Library is open Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Curbside service is available for checkouts and business services. Free Wi-Fi is available 24/7.
