Be sure your kids and grandkids are signed up for the Summer Reading Program.

Every Tuesday starting June 29 until August 3, we will have games, prizes, arts and crafts and small snacks for the kiddos. Registration forms are available at the library or on our website www.banderacountylibrary. org.

Adults and Teens can also participate in the 2021 Summer Reading Challenge. Read the most books from select categories by August 31 and win a gift card to the Dough Joe! The reading list gets released June 1.

Don’t forget the Bandera Public Library will be closed on Monday, May 31, in observance of Memorial Day. Memorial Day is the day we honor those who have sacrificed their lives while serving in the United States Armed Forces. Spend the day with friends and family, but also take a moment to remember those who gave their lives for our country.

The library is updating our mask policy in accordance with the new CDC guidelines. Those who are fully vaccinated are no longer required to social distance or wear masks. Those who are not fully vaccinated should continue to wear them. Thank you so much for your understanding!

New titles out this week include “What to Do with Your Money When a Crisis Hits: A Survival Guide” by Michelle Singletary, a personal finance columnist for The Washington Post who frequently appears on TV and radio.

Dale Brown is out with a new military thriller called “Artic Storm Rising,” in which a covert CIA mission goes horribly wrong and officers have to keep nuclear tech out of the hands of Russians.

The Bandera Library is open Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Curbside service is still available for checkouts and business services. Free Wi-Fi is available 24/7. Check out www.banderacountylibrary. org for all up-to-date information.

Happy tales, y’all.

Mauri Guillen Fagan is the Director of the Bandera Public Library.
