Competing against 5A and 6A schools at the Corpus Christi Carroll High School Practice Meet on Friday, Jan. 10, the Bandera High School Academic Decathlon Team brought home a second-place overall trophy and won first place in the Super Quiz, Bandera Independent School District officials said. Team Captain Hannah Bates said, “It is nice to have a team that works well together. Our team has demonstrated that it can compete head-to-head against large schools.” Bandera High is a 4A school. Bates received high scoring recognition with a third -place overall Scholastic score. Three newcomers to the decathlon team also received recognition as high-scoring individuals.
