The club has 52 members, and a quorum of 39 were present. Musical entertainment was provided by the string quartet ‘Three plus One,’ who played holiday tunes. The club normally meets four times a year, and all ExxonMobil Retirees in the Kerrville-Fredericksburg surrounds are eligible to join. Hats off to many people and coaches but especially Kristen Cook, Diane Zirkel, Sherry Watts and Jennifer Doyle. They spent a lot of time working on this for several weeks leading up to this weekend's successful event. I also want to make sure that Sherri Kelly is mentioned as she did an amazing job behind the scenes to help make sure the day by day hospitality room was stocked with food for the coaches, workers, officials, etc.

Read moreAs the morning sun rose and added warmth to the earth on a recent cold Pipe Creek morning, it became the perfect backdrop for a new cross erected on the Pipe Creek Christian School campus. The original wooden cross donated by the George Sistrunk family was damaged beyond repair in a recent windstorm. The school extended thanks Horizon Structural Systems in New Braunfels, who donated the six-inch steel tubing, and to Jeff Hayes, an employee of the company, and his son Jacob for welding the pieces together and erecting the cross. “It will take more than a windstorm to bring this cross down,” said the school in a statement.
