Chase Havely, a graduate of Bandera High School, class of 2018, excelled at many things.

Chase was a straight "A" student, varisity football, varsity basketball, varsity baseball and varsity track. Chase's "gift" though was driving a race car.

From the time he began in go karts to the time he graduated high school, Havely had won seven year-end Championships and was Rookie of the year multiple times including in the NAPA Pro Truck series in Texas and the South Texas Limited Modified Series. From the age of three, Chase had

From the age of three, Chase had dreamed of being in the ranks of the best race drivers in the world. At the age of five, he realized that

At the age of five, he realized that there were other career choices that would allow him to follow his dream as well, that of a race car engineer or crew chief.

Upon graduation from Bandera High School, he attended Texas State University. He was then awarded an engineering scholarship to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, NC.

Chase has been attending UNCC and will graduate with a degree in Mechanical Engineering with emphasis in Motorsports in December of 2022.

The talented Havely still races his own Late Model on the dirt tracks of the east coast but is focused mainly on his career.

You see, Chase was hired in May of this year to work at GMS Motorsports. GMS is one of the best NASCAR/ Camping World Truck organizations in the sport. Sheldon Creed, #2 truck, was last years truck champion for 2020.

They currently compete with five truck teams. They also field an ARCA car and a Late Model team.

In 2022, GMS will compete with two new Cup teams to round out their stable of talent.

Havely has worked his way up in just a few months and is currently working under the lead engineer of the GMS Camping World Truck teams.

Chase said "It's really cool to be able to live my dream. I've always done well in racing and my passion has always been behind the wheel of the car. The real money and careers are made back at the shop. I want a career that I can be in the sport, make a good living and do what I love doing while getting paid."

He went on to say "I have a terrific boss and I have a really great future here. They hired me for a number of reasons. My college degree of course and my racing experience makes for a good combination that they need to move forard. I'm really happy to be here."

Havely will obviously excel in the sport. Whether it's behind the wheel or on the Pit Box as a crew chief, you can rest assured, if you want something bad enough, Chase emphasized;

"follow your dream".

Chase said "It's possible. You just have to stay focused and live right."
