Foundation aids back-to-school benefit

Thanks in part to a Bandera Electric Cooperative Foundation grant of $2,500, the Hill Country Samaritans distributed more than 600 backpacks filled with school supplies during its Back-to- School Bash for schools in early August at the Lakehills Civic Center. The event was held to provide underprivileged students of Bandera County with free school supplies, haircuts, physicals, eye and dental exams, educational materials for back-to-school preparations, food, fun and family-friendly activities. The event was sponsored and endorsed by the Bandera Independent School District, which provided free transportation to the event from the Bandera Middle School campus.
