State game wardens report busy July 4 weekend
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department recently repcorted between July 4-6, 402 game wardens contacted 10,034 vessels, issued 1,326 citations, and 1,794 warnings for various boating safety violations.

Abbott sends firefighters to CA for wildfire aid
Governor Greg Abbott announced earlier this week that he has directed the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) and Texas A&M Forest Service to deploy firefighters, emergency management personnel, fire engines, and equipment to assist with wildfire response efforts in California following a request from CAL Fire through the California Office of Emergency Services.

Kristina (Kris) Stephens Fett, beloved wife, mother, grandmother (known as “Marme”), sister, aunt, and friend, died peacefully at age 77, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, July 23, 2024. She bravely fought a lengthy battle with ovarian cancer with courage and grace. Her strength was an inspiration to her family and friends. The family is grateful for MD Anderson’s loving and excellent care of Kris.
