Honoring America’s Millitary
“With The Marines at Tarawa” is the most terrifying World War II film I have ever seen. Every American who loves our country has an obligation to watch it. It’s real and it’s accurate. 12/27/2023 00:00

Wow, Silver Sage future sounds like Utopia on Earth! However, expressions like creation of ‘a more inclusive and just society,’ ‘racial and ethnic disparities,’ ‘empowering people and building equitable communities’ means Federal Government money. With that comes OBLIGATIONS to the government — so get ready Bandera! 12/20/2023 00:00

VERMIN & BEING SEMTIC
The Oxford dictionary describes Vermin as people that are perceived as despicable and as causing problems for the rest of society. 12/13/2023 00:00

I live outside the city and therefore don’t get too involved in city politics, but I do care if the city seems to be making poor decisions regarding who is hired, whether as a city official or as a consultant. We (Bandera as a whole) end up looking like either rubes or slackers. 12/13/2023 00:00

As just another Bandera County retiree, I would like to voice my opinion about the editorial written by Abraham Schneck in last week’s paper. 12/06/2023 00:00

Out To Pasture?
Out To Pasture?
I can’t imagine the complexities of running a newspaper in the digital age, and as an old schooler who loves his flip phone and doesn't have a Netflix account, I am grateful to live in a county where I can pick up a physical copy of the newspaper. 11/29/2023 00:00

A HILL COUNTRY CHRISTMAS – BOOK SIGNING AND AUTHOR’S TALK
It’s that time of year and what better way to enjoy the holiday spirit than to find a comfortable spot with a great book and a glass of wine. The Frontier Times Museum in Bandera has got you covered in all those areas with the much anticipated return of renowned Texas author Lynn Dean to a book signing event at the museum on Thursday, Nov. 30. The program will take place in the museum’s cozy Doane Gallery room and will start at 5:30 p.m. 11/22/2023 00:00

RE: METHVILLE 3240
RE: METHVILLE 3240
Thank you for bringing this situation the attention it deserves. I find it hard to believe that the Sheriff’s department is doing anything other than telling us to be patient. If they are doing something they should be clearer about what that is. It’s hard to believe people live in this squalor, and if they are drug addicts, as many of us neighbors assume, they need help in changing their lives. Ignoring this situation is not helping anyone involved. And if there are children living there, shouldn’t Child Protective Services be involved as well? Public outcry is the only thing likely to lead to action.. 11/08/2023 00:00
VETERANS DAY
VETERANS DAY
In America, Veterans Day is the day in which we reflect and honor the sacrifice, service, and dedication of the men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. November 11 is a time to appreciate and honor all who served in the military— whether serving here at home or overseas. 11/08/2023 00:00
