State meet next stop for Lady Bulldogs

On Oct. 28, the Bandera Lady Bulldog Cross Country Team competed in the 2019 4A Region IV Cross Country Regional Championships in Corpus Christi and finished in second place, which qualified the group to compete in the state cross country meet in Round Rock.

The Lady Bulldogs took the silver medal at the regional meet with 156 points. Liberty Hill’s team won the competition.

The top four teams in each division qualified for the state meet, as well as the top 15 individuals who were not part of the qualifying teams.

Elexis Pearson lead the Lady Bulldogs with a 23rd place finish. Caitlyn Thrasher came in second for the team, placing 29th, while Morgan Cole finished third for Bandera with a 32nd place finish.

Bandera’s Hannah Edwards finished in 35th place, Raelynn Butler in 37th place, Jordan Edwards in 38th place and Corinne McMullan in 47th place at regionals.

The Lady Bulldogs will compete at the 2019 State Cross Country Meet on Saturday, Nov. 9, at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock beginning at noon.
