The Bandera High School Lady Bulldogs took the lead late against Devine in a game last month and came out on top 11-6.
The Lady Bulldogs took the lead in the fifth inning when Aubrey Mangold doubled on the first pitch and knocked in a run that put Bandera up 7-6.
Cami Chesler led the Bulldogs to victory by driving in four runs, including home runs in the third and sixth innings.
Mangold got the win for Bandera. She allowed 11 hits and six runs over five innings, striking out two and walking none. Penelope Garcia gave up no runs in two innings of relief for Bandera.
Coaches said it was a total team effort for the Lady ‘Dogs. They had 13 total hits, with Caitlin Watson, Chesler, Mangold and Garcia each having multiple hits for the game.
Watson led all Bulldog hitters with three hits in four at bats.
The team was coming together and hoped to keep improving as the season moved forward.
