Bandera’s head football coach said the Bulldogs performed well in their first scrimmage against another team on Friday, Aug. 16, when both the varsity and junior varsity teams played Devine.
Coach Joel Fontenot-Amedee said no score was kept on the game, but he felt his varsity showed improvement during the contest against a quality opponent.
“Defensively, we did an outstanding job versus a unique, triple-option-oriented offense,” he said. “Offensively,we took a step in the right direction. We ran the ball well and completed play-action passes at a high percentage.”
