According to the end credits of “Silo,” there have been approximately 1,270 grain entrapments since 1964. That’s an average of one every 15 days, more than half of which end fatally. “Silo” intends to reveals the harsh realities many farmers face. To that end, the film is incredibly successful, although the entrapment’s inciting incident is a bizarre script choice from writer Jason Williamson, especially given the film’s intentions.
