$40 Billion Too Much

If you’ve had trouble reaching our senator, John Cornyn, lately, it might be because you are using the wrong area code. Try 380. That’s the code for UKRAINE which is where he went this past weekend with minority leader Mitch McConnell.

But now that everyone is back, attention is turning to another spending package for Ukraine to the tune of $40 billion which is on top of the 13.6 billion passed in March. Note: by Bandera Bulletin deadline, the Ukraine package was still in limbo due to objections by Sen. Rand Paul.

Rep. Chip Roy took the the House floor and decried that the allotted two hours to read the bill, was not enough time and that the only way to pay for it was print money or borrow from China, and loudly voted no. Sadly, he was only one of 57, all Republicans, in the House to do so.

What’s included in the $40 billion graft? $900 million for Ukraine refugees to relocate, yes, to America. 8.7 million to restore the weapons here that we are shipping there. My two personal favorites: $5 billion for food shortage around the world. Sorry Americans, suck on rationed baby formula. And $8.8 billion to correct, wait for it… misinformation about Ukraine! Cue the Ministry of Truth.

Now, what misinformation will that be? Because the truth is “democratic Ukraine” is ranked the second most corrupt nation in Europe according to Business Insider and the global coalition Transparency International. Pres. Zelinsky shut down 10 opposition political parties, making them illegal and combined all national television channels into a single platform which he controls. And while the Dems screech about Russian oligarchs, Ukrainian oligarchs are not in short supply.

But, if you still feel Ukraine needs more, understand they are going to get plenty through the Democracy Lend-Lease Act signed into law by Biden on May 7.

Touted as a harken to FDR’s Lend-Lease of 1941, this dollar amount is not counted in the latest proposed $40 billion boondoggle. The Act, allows Biden to declare weapons, food, and other resources are needed in Ukraine and off it will go. Oh, it gets better. The United States can also “lend” weapons or money to countries supporting Ukraine who will need to restock their own nation’s supply, but can’t afford to do so. Thus, the US will fund that, too! And no, Biden will not have to ask approval from Congress. That balance of power is sooo 1776.

Thankfully, the act clearly states weapons must be returned or paid for. Of course it also clearly states the “terms of the repayment will be separately established in intergovernmental agreements during which parties can adjust the form, schedule or method of payment” and basically accept no guarantee of return or payment at the end of the conflict. Well, dandy.

In 1941 that translated into England paying back at a 90% discount and not in full until December of 2006. Oh, they did return a handful of warships so high five England. Russia, also a recipient, was allowed to pay in grain in 1978 and the remaining 722 million was written off. As I conclude, let’s review. Sen Schumer, leading the senate, wants

As I conclude, let’s review. Sen Schumer, leading the senate, wants us to fork over $40 billion in aid, while Ukraine’s European neighbors pay roughly 20% of what we’ve paid.

In return, we are to consider it our patriotic duty to pay a 48% increase in gas, ration baby formula, continue giving illegal aliens free cell phones while the US debt climbs to $30 trillion. Biden also informs us that printing more money will solve inflation because it’s transitory, whoops, hard to solve, well, complicated well, an asset, and what Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen does know is that not killing babies through abortion will definitely hurt the economy more. But what won’t hurt the economy or be a threat to democracy is dropping Title 42 so that 540,000 illegals per month can swarm our country virtually unvetted.

If all of this sounds, well, immoral, then let our senators know you, too vote a LOUD NO on $40 billion. We are a representative government. We the People still have a voice and they need the reminder through email or phone calls. So crank out that American area code and let them know that in the words of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, we will “not participate in the slow decline of this country”; we will fight to the last man and we expect our representatives to do the same.

And that’s just one gal’s opinion.
