On June 10, The (Bandera) Bulletin published a Republican column that claimed Antifa was providing “anarchistic foot soldiers and violent enforcers “ that are “aggressively supporting progressive
Democratic positions” and “igniting nationwide violence which followed” the death of George Floyd.
Between June 2 and June 11, nine stories in major news outlets, including Forbes Magazine, a conservative financial publication, refute that claim. A quick Google search turns the stories up in seconds.
The June 2 story said that the FBI had found “no Intel” indicating Antifa was involved. On June 11, another story said federal arrests showed no sign that Antifa plotted the protests.
I would urge everyone to do their own fact checking of opinion columns in the paper.
The First Amendment protects free speech. But every American has a duty to check the opinions of others against the facts because incomplete and/or misleading information is a dime a dozen these days.
