Lou Chancy, age 90, of Medina, Texas, died Jan. 21st at Kerrville, TX. Lou was born March 12, 1932, in Medina on Rocky Creek Dr. to Clarence and Hallie (Jackson) Light.

She was an only child and most of her life she did things her way.

Having started to school at Medina and graduating in 1949, she was so proud to have been the first Football Queen for Medina in 1948. She attended business school in S.A.

Married Ralph Chancy Dec. 1, 1952, in Kerrville. Had been married 56 years when Ralph passed away July 6, 2008.

They had two sons, Roy (Christy) and Roger (Kristy). She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Ralph.

Survivors are her two sons, granddaughter Corina Fox (Travis), great grandchild Sara Wilkins (Cameron), Abigail Fox and Jack Fox.

Lou was very proud to have grown up in Medina. She was a member of the Medina Rose Garden Club, Medina Methodist Church, Medina UMW, and a director of the Oak Rest Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
