The Vanderpool Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) has expanded its range of communication coverage through the donation of an old radio tower, once owned by Bandera County.
The Bandera County commissioners voted at their regular meeting last week to declare the old tower in Precinct 4 as surplus, and offer it to the Vanderpool Fire Department.
“We are a very small fire department, our funds are limited, and the old tower will allow us to be able to communicate from the fire station to our units in the field,” said Vanderpool VFD Fire Chief Al Buckner.
