Second rabies case ID’d in county

A second case of rabies has been confirmed in Bandera County in less than two months, the most recent one involving a fox that attacked chickens in Tarpley last week and then bit the woman who owned the chickens in the leg when she intervened, the Bandera County Sheriff’s Department has reported. Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Matt King said the woman who lives in the 2000 block of Thomas Creek Road in Tarpley saw the fox attack her chickens and was bit when she tried to ward the fox off.
