The Arthur Nagel Community Clinic recently announced an $80,000 grant award from the Baptist Health Foundation of San Antonio in support of its mission and programs.

The Foundation makes grant awards to approximately 100 nonprofits every year, ranging from community food pantries to churches to medical facilities across eight counties.

“Texas has the highest percentage and number of people without health insurance in the United States,” said Clinic Executive Director, Chuck Lutke. “In Bandera County, the number of uninsured is 4,000. This generous grant will enable the Nagel Clinic to serve more families at a time when our patients have multiple impacts on their physical and mental health. We are enormously grateful.”

Foundation President and CEO Cody Knowlton added, “Baptist Health Foundation of San Antonio is honored to fulfill its God-honoring mission by generously supporting the incredible and life-changing work of the Arthur Nagel Community Clinic.”

Earlier this year, the Baptist Health Foundation of San Antonio, presented its “Spirit of Health” award to Bandera County in ceremonies held at the Bandera County Commissioners’ Court.

Next year, the Arthur Nagel Community Clinic will celebrate the 15th anniversary year of its founding.

The clinic, which relies on private donations for its annual budget, provides primary and preventive health care to qualifying low-income, medically uninsured families who reside in Bandera County.
