Bandera High School Senior Cade Koenig has received the 2022 Exceptional Senior Award (ESA), presented by Texas Representative Chip Roy, whose congressional district includes Bandera.

The third annual Exceptional Senior Award is presented to stellar seniors across Texas’ 21st Congressional District for the graduating Class of 2022.

The winners of this award are students that have consistently displayed high levels of character, leadership, integrity, and diligence through their philanthropic activities, academic success, and reputations among peers and teachers.

"Cade Koenig is an outstanding young man," said Bandera High School Principal Dr. Ken Vogel. "Despite his superior grade point average, accomplishments, and many gifts, he remains humble and polite to all others. He is dedicated to academics, but more importantly, he has dedicated himself to being a role model for others to follow. It was no surprise that Congressman Chip Roy decided to bestow the title of Exceptional Senior upon Cade, for he truly is exceptional."

Cade will have an opportunity to meet Congressman Roy and fellow ESA winners in the next couple months at which time he will be presented with a certificate.

He will be attending the University of Texas at Austin in the fall where he will study biology.
