Education foundation delivers $37,000 in grants

The Bandera ISD Education Foundation Prize Posse visited campuses on Sept. 18 to award more than $37,000 in grants to Bandera teachers for innovative educational programs and cutting-edge teaching resources. A small group of foundation directors met at each Bandera Independent School District campus to distribute the “big (ceremonial) checks” and celebrate with the winners. In all, 17 grants were awarded at the four campuses. At Alkek Elementary School, the grant “The New Special Education Classroom in Elementary” funded additional classroom furniture and supplies to benefit special education students.
