At the Bandera County Commissioners’ Court’s regular meeting on Sept. 14, bid specifications were discussed for the roof replacement of the Bandera Kronkosky Public Library due to hail damage.

The county will accept bids for galvanized or galvalume roof replacements until the October 10 deadline; then on October 12, the commissioners will open and review the bids.

Commissioners agreed to establish the same Sheriff’s and Constable Fees as last year’s. The fees did not increase.

Following the 198th District Judge’s order setting the annual salary, travel expenses, and other allowances for the County Auditor and Assistant Auditors, the commissioners approved the District Clerk’s certification of the 5% COLA increase aligned with other county officials and employees recently approved for the same increase.

HR Director Sharon Dowda announced that the Juvenile Probation Department will have an opening for a Community Activities Officer.

This description, which removes “clerk” from the title, seeks a role in which the person will be working with juveniles, according to Dowda.

The court accepted two donations from Bandera Electric CooperativeL one in the amount of $500 for Bandera County EMS and the other in the amount of $500 for the Bandera County Historical Commission.

Later, they accepted a donation of $2,089 from Real Bread Outreach for the Bandera County Juvenile Probation Department. This donation includes ingredients, supplies, and equipment to support a vocational culinary program.

The commissioners approved the acceptance of the FY 2024 Statewide Automated Victim Notification Services (SAVNS) contract for $5,762.25 and authorized Judge Richard Evans to execute the agreement.

Pursuant to the contract, the commissioners approved a contract renewal with Appriss, Inc for the SAVNS service to begin September 1 and end on August 31, 2024, authorizing Evans to execute the agreement.
