Bandera’s New Year’s tradition of shooting off fireworks will not be affected by the county wide burn ban this year. Only fireworks like skyrockets with sticks or fins will be excluded from the celebration. Skyrockets are notorious for being shot off and bringing embers with them when they fall back to the ground. These very hot embers are what cause grass fires in the county.
