Blessings in a Backpack is a six-year-old program that strives to see that elementary school students from low-income families in the Bandera Independent School District have nutritious food to eat when they don’t have access to hot meals from school cafeterias.
That means food they can eat over 34 weekends during the year and also during long holidays, like the Christmas break that starts in BISD on Monday, Dec. 23, and lasts two weeks.
