RE: HAUETER COLUMN

March 02, 2022 - 05:00

Editor’s Note: The following letter is in reference to the February 16 column headlined “Primary Elections Really Do Matter.”

In response to what I read in last weeks political column, it appears to me and I’m sure others, that the local political machine is putting extra effort into discouraging any new challengers from even attempting to run.

Apparently I was under the false assumption that the party would welcome and assist any “We The People” regular working Joe’s that have the desire, willingness, determination and persistence to tackle the impossible, only to be discouraged by the party leaders. When looking at my sample ballot I only see two races county wide that have challengers going against incumbents! So why exactly is the article written but to cause division with in the party.

I think some people need to get out of the way and the let “We the People” voters decide for themselves. The primary is really the only time the average voter has the most impact. So please go out and vote your choice and God bless the U.S.A!!!
