The Lower Colorado River Authority is now accepting applications for community grants of up to $100,000 for projects that improve local facilities and support emergency responders.
The grants, available to nonprofits, municipalities and first responder agencies, can help fund improvements to community centers, fire stations, libraries, sports fields, and more. Updated equipment and gear for emergency personnel are also eligible.
While most grants will be $25,000 or less, LCRA will award several grants of up to $50,000.
One $100,000 grant will be awarded this cycle to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the grant program.
A second $100,000 grant will be available during the next cycle in January 2026.
Applications are open now through July 31 at lcra.org/grants. Projects requesting more than $5,000 must include at least a 20% funding match. Projects should benefit the broader community and improve a capital asset through construction, renovation or equipment purchase.
The program—formerly known as the Community Development Partnership Program—offers funding twice a year to eligible organizations in 73 counties within LCRA’s service area, including Bandera, Kerr, Medina, Gillespie, and Travis counties.
The grants are not available to individuals, for-profit businesses, social service projects, or limited-use facilities.
