A Bandera High School staff member was arrested Thursday with multiple charges including aggravated sexual assault.
Sheriff Josh Teitge said BHS administration contacted the department about the allegation, prompting an immediate criminal investigation.

Investigators interviewed the student and secured potential evidence, which led to arrest warrants for Christopher Sandoval Mata.
Officials said Mata was taken into custody around 2 p.m. Thursday and booked into the Bandera County Jail. He is facing charges of aggravated sexual assault, improper relationship between an educator and a student and invasive visual recording.
“This is an ongoing criminal investigation and no further details or comment will be provided at this time,” said Teitge. “The Bandera County Sheriff’s Office will continue to provide updates if or when further events or criminal charges unfold.”
