As the morning sun rose and added warmth to the earth on a recent cold Pipe Creek morning, it became the perfect backdrop for a new cross erected on the Pipe Creek Christian School campus. The original wooden cross donated by the George Sistrunk family was damaged beyond repair in a recent windstorm. The school extended thanks Horizon Structural Systems in New Braunfels, who donated the six-inch steel tubing, and to Jeff Hayes, an employee of the company, and his son Jacob for welding the pieces together and erecting the cross. “It will take more than a windstorm to bring this cross down,” said the school in a statement. Read moreBandera High School Senior, Tyler Moore, took advantage of the early signing window to sign his letter of intent to attend the University of Arkansas Little Rock and participate in their Division I track program. During the winter indoor season, Moore will run the 400 meter and be a part of the 4 by 400 relay team. During the spring and summer “out door” season, Moore will participate in javelin and the 400-meter hurdles.
