Upon graduation from University Lab High School in Baton Rouge, Anne enrolled at Louisiana State University where she graduated with a BA in Music Education and married John Mitchell Dale, her loving husband of 69 years. After stops in Pasadena Texas and Bartlesville Oklahoma where their sons David and Chris were born, they moved to San Antonio Texas where Anne spent over 20 years teaching third grade and students with Special Needs. Anne and John purchased land on Medina Lake where they built a second home, retired there, and welcomed all who visited this very special place. Anne was active in civic groups promoting the responsible care of Medina Lake and its watershed.
Anne is preceded in death by her husband John and survived by sons David Dale and wife Nancy of Sugar Land Tx, Chris Dale and his wife Deb of Fort Collins CO, grandchildren Aaron Dale, Tyson Dale, Carolyn Mc-Donald and her husband Jason, John Dale and his wife Rachel and great grandchildren Wyatt and Jack McDonald. Anne’s grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of her life, and they lovingly called her “Oma”.
Anne took great delight in entertaining both friends and family, working on projects to improve her community and supporting her extended family. A celebration of life is being planned for fall of 2026 by her sons to honor John and Anne at their beloved Medina Lake.
