Spring Hill Country challenges softball and other spring sports, especially in late March. Just ask Medina Lady Bobcats Softball Head Coach Larry Jackson and the players who took on the strong Mason Punchers in an 18-miles-per-hour wind on Tuesday, March 22.

The Punchers won 16-1 but the Lady Bobcats bounded back a few days later with an 18-5 home win against San Saba.

In the Mason game, the Lady Bobcats scored their one run on three hits.

Medina Pitcher Kytlin Peterson threw 74 strikes on 125 total pitches.

Coach Jackson said Medina committed defensive three errors which translated to a 10*run fourth inning, in which the Lady Cats entered the inning with a score of 6-1.

Offensively, the Lady Cats had three hits all singles coming from, Kytlin Peterson, Hallie Kunz, and Addie Derry, who also had the only RBI for the Lady Cats.

“Charli McCabe, Kaidanse Pump and Brooke Mancha also added to the offense by each drawing a walk. With runners in scoring position every inning, we could not find a way to get those runners across the plate,” Jackson said.

Medina traveled to Harper yesterday. Results were not available by the Bulletin’s deadline. They went into that game with a 3-7 overall record.

They host Goldthwaite this Friday, April 1.
