LETTER TO THE EDITOR
I can’t say enough about the awesome care I’ve received at the Bandera Rehab Facility in Bandera, TX, but let me start with the stuff.
George, Melissa and Chris have restored my mobility. The physical and occupational therapy my pain level enough to move around my room at first and next into the hallways in spite of a double fracture on my spine, sciatic and nerve pain and osteoarthritis. I’m also able to sit up to eat, dress myself and more importantly, give me hope for a full recovery soon. Thank you to the therapists’ expertise and personal commitment to their patients.
The nursing staff has gone the extra mile to ensure my recovery too. For beginners, their welcoming smiles make me feel at home. They do their job with compassion and a positive attitude that has lifted me daily. So my sincere gratitude to the RN’s Joann, Courtney and Lauren; the CNA’s Mary, Bertha, Consuelo, Lucero, Meighan, Araceli, Cassandra, Francis, Andrea, Patti, Julie; Crystal, Andrea, Jenny and Bianca, the med techs, all of them have a unique and personal touch.
Garland’s presence and good humor lifts everyone’s spirit. He never minds offering a helping hand either. I never got bored on the road from Uvalde to Bandera when he drove me in the company van. God bless you!
I must mention the cooks who contribute to the success of Rita’s team. I’m a diabetic, but it doesn’t keep them from fixing nutritious meals and caloric -friendly version of bacon/eggs with raisin toast, chicken fired steak and a wheat roll. Thanks for preparing healthy and delicious food under all under the direction of Amparo.
Nothing at the rehab is possible without the leadership of an intelligent, strong person with faith and Rita Adams is God-sent. I’ve seen this administrator personally help the patients with their needs while simultaneously running all the other duties under her responsibility. She truly listens and tends to her patients’. Just last week, she warmed up my dinner since it was brought to me five minutes late, which wasn’t a problem for me, but she insisted that I eat a warm meal. I’ve also seen Rita leave after 5:00 P.M. on many occasions helping her staff, visiting with patients, or completing a report. This is testimony of her dedication, and firm commitment to serve her community and love for her job. May God bless Rita, for all her efforts and doing God’s Will.
